Spring Garden

This card was made with Card Making Magic Spring Garden stamp set that came with issue 119 of Creative Stamping magazine.  The centre shape is a decagon (10 sided) inked through an aperture using distress oxides with some subtle stencilling and stamped with the garden table and chairs.

Leafy branches, garden border and potted plant stamped around the edge of my square white panel, some of which overspill onto the main panel.  Hadn't set out to do double layer stamping but this card just developed along the way.  The centre decagon needed a lift of colour as it was quite green so I die cut it out and used a yellow matt layer behind.  Used polychromo pencils to colour the images with a few white gel pen highlights.  Main panel matted with yellow also.

Took a while for me to like the finished card and I thought of a misty Spring morning looking out into the garden.  Sentiment lightly stamped so as not to stand out too much.

I've used - 6x6" white card base
issue 119 Creative Stamping stamp set
Versafine olympia green ink pad
Distress oxides, polychromo pencils
unbranded stitched decagon die
