Uniko Beautiful Blooms

Image
I was delighted to win an eGift Certificate recently from Uniko to spend in store during their 11th Birthday celebrations when this card was chosen as winner in the Birthday Card Link Party.  I've been playing with some of my new purchases and created three Spring cards with a set of layering floral stamps called Beautiful Blooms III.  Sentiments are a mix from other sets. I cut a mask so I could add all the buds and leaves after the blooms were stamped in place.  Two have vellum strip sentiments stamped and heat embossed in gold. Pink version was stamped to create an all over background Purple version has three main blooms with large leaves This yellow version has a centre strip placed over the stamped panel as I wanted to use Claritystamp's large 'Spring' word. I've used - A6 cream card bases Uniko stamp sets:  Beautiful Blooms III, Paradise, Simply Said Blocks, English Country Garden Butterflies Claritystamp 'Spring' stamp Various stamp pads: Versafine C

Mother's Day Flowers

Image
Sharing another card using Julie Hickey Designs stamp sent Sent with Love, this time for Mother's Day.  A more clean and fresh Spring look in contrast to my previous card which you can see here . For this design I've stamped in monarch VersaFine Clair, heat embossed with clear EP and coloured the flowers and envelope with promarkers.  Lightly stencilled in green DO some small squares to add interest.  Cut the top edge of the panel to mirror the shape of the envelope and added extra flowers on one side which are fussy cut and adhered with 1mm foam pads.  Both panels matted with pink card to match the colour of the stamped sentiment and heart on the envelope.  Die cut finishing touches in pink are three little dots and alphas for mum. I've used - 6x6" white card base Julie Hickey Designs - Sent with Love stamp set monarch & glamorous VersaFine Clair; Promarkers Creative Expressions stencil - Grunge Texture evergreen bough Distress Oxide Trimcraft First Edition modern

Julie Hickey Designs Sent with Love

I do love this image of an envelope with flowers bursting out at the top from Julie Hickey Designs 'Sent with Love' stamp set.  Ideal for so many different occasions.  I've gone for a muted colour palette for this card, next time I'll do a vibrant one.  After stamping & heat embossing with gold EP I coloured the image with polychromo pencils and fussy cut.  The two main flowers were stamped again and adhered over the top for added dimension with 1mm foam pads. The background panel was lightly sponged around the edges with wild honey & spiced marmalade distress oxides and over stamped with tumbled glass & scattered straw distress inks with stamps from Julie Hickey designer series 'Circles Medley' set by Hazel Eaton.  Main image added on top at a slight angle.  You might just be able to see the words 'laugh' 'believe' and 'love' stamped close to the edges of the envelope on the background. I've used - 6x6" white card ba

Stencil Masking

Image
After feeling a bit rough with a head cold for the past week I needed to create something simple to get back on track with up coming birthdays so I decided to mask off areas of a herringbone stencil to create a different look for a change on this card.  First portion inked was in the bottom right corner then the second portion next to it at right angles leaving an area of white open space at the top for the sentiment. I blended just two colours of distress oxide inks: fired brick and wild honey.  Sentiment was simply stamped in black ink along the top lines with a distress element line stamp to extend the design.  Then decided the head of a little monster with his big eyes and smile would be fun to include.  He's still smiling even though I've chopped off his bottom half!  He's been stamped, fussy cut and coloured with polychromo pencils.  Added glossy accents on his eyes and dimples.  A cluster of die cut dots to embellish in the same colour as the monster.
