Hug Life: it's precious

Image
I love taking part in  CAS Stencil Challenge  each month as the techniques set by the ladies really test me so when April's was announced I had to take a back seat as I didn't have any gilding flakes.  Then by chance when I was looking for something else in my stash I came across some sheets of gold leaf metal which I must have got way, way back when I was doing calligraphy ... that'll do I thought! I've used a flower grass border stencil along the bottom of my panel with spray adhesive & the leaf metal which turned out rather fragmented so decided to add some die cut poppy heads as a foreground with a 'hug life' sentiment above just because it seemed so appropriate for the situation we all find ourselves in at the moment.  I do love the overall soft tones of gold, linen & white together. I've used - A6 card base Linen & white pearlised card Phill Martin/Sentimentally Yours flower border stencil Gold leaf metal Spellbinders Po

Easter punch/die art

Image
Here's a few more of my Easter makes ... decided to revisit punch/die cut art with the help of inspiration found on Pinterest to create a trio of bunnies having fun.  It's amazing what you can create by assembling basic die cut shapes in various sizes mounted on patterned papers. Used flower outline dies for the sentiments & No 1's tail ... oops forgot to put any whiskers on No 2 ... No 1 is disappearing down a rabbit hole ... No 2 is sat happily in a flower pot ... while No 3 is cheekily up close! I've used - 4x4" & A6 card bases Various basic shaped dies Patterned papers from stash Mag cover mount sentiment  stamp Linking up with - Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe  Challenge #JOSTTT016 - first column - flowers die-cut oval Thank you for visiting - I'd love you to leave a comment if you have time -  Steph x

Sympathy Card for CAS Mix Up April Challenge

Image
Sadly I've needed two sympathy cards recently, this is one of them.  This month's challenge over at  CAS Mix Up  is to use bleach to remove colour ... now I've only ever used water before to lift off colour so I thought, okay, let's give actual bleach a go and I was pleasantly surprised with the overall effect. I started by sponging distress oxide ink onto a piece of white card stock, once dry stamped & heat embossed this lovely dragonfly which has a circular floral design around it & die cut into a decagon shape.  Using a tiny paint brush I applied bleach to the larger flowers first just as a trial, then came back the next day and did the leaves ... some parts are whiter whilst others have pale chalky pink, blue & purple tones.  I did dab the bleach quicker off the leaves than the flowers. The dragonfly was stamped again onto vellum & cut out, coloured with promarkers on the reverse & adhered by just the body so the wings are free to mov

Hedgehog Best Wishes

Image
Hello to you all hope you are staying safe & well at the moment.  My card share today is an array of cute Penny Black hedgehogs simply arranged on a four square, die cut panel backed with subtle butterfly patterned paper.  They are all out of hibernation and busy just enjoying Springtime in one way or another ... The Margaret Sherry Collection hedgehogs are stamped and coloured with promarkers then fussy cut, there's a few die cut flowers from an inked scrap and a die cut sentiment below which has a darker drop shadow.  I've had these stamps since 2008 and still going strong! I've used -  5x7" white card base Penny Black stamps from three different sets 'hugs!' 'critter party' & 'bubbly' Tonic sentiment die Xcut flower die Linking up with - Watercooler Wednesday Challenge  WWC265 Krafty Chicks Challenge  #501 WEEK 1 (STAMP ACT) Thank you for visiting - I'd love you to leave a comment if you have ti
