Sanntangle With Love

It's rare I craft with kits but when I saw the Papercraft Society's May box was designed by Sandra Rushton from Sanntangle I knew had to buy it.  This card features paper weaving, stamping, heat embossing, stencilling to map out the border, tangling, colouring pencils and a bit of parchment work too.  Made for my mum's birthday next month.

I started with some of the papers from the kit, cutting 1cm strips to weave into a square.  The random edges were cut with a torn edge die from my stash.  Stamped and gold heat embossed onto vellum the flourish, heart and 'love' sentiment.  Flourish coloured with colouring pencils.  Tangled a grid design with a purple fine liner pen into the open centres of the heart and letters.  On the reverse dry embossed with a small parchment ball tool to whiten each square to give a quilted effect.  Decided to mount these stamped images onto white card and fussy cut to make them pop more against the woven background and so I could use some 1mm foam pads too.  Hand wrote 'with' onto vellum with a white gelly roll pen and adhered with micro dots.

Used one of the stencils from the kit to design and then tangle the outside frame with brown and purple fine liner pens.  The frame ended up too dark in colour so cut a vellum square to place over the top to soften the look adding an inner frame of white embossed dots with a ball tool.  Woven panel added on top.

Here's a picture of the items I've used.
There is plenty more in this kit to keep me busy as I can combine the kit with my cardmaking stash or just focus on tangling.

I've used - 6x6" white card base
