Funky Fossil Floating Acetate Cards
The lovely Sarah Gray from Funky Fossil did a free live workshop craft-a-long last month on the How To Craft Network and I joined in even though I didn't have the actual sets she used I decided to use other FF products I had instead. Here are the two cards I made.
Both A6 in size, one has a side acetate panel featuring a geo butterfly, the other is an easel card featuring funky florals. In the past I have shied away from using acetate but I'm pleased with how these came out but difficult to photograph. Base cards cut from a sheet of 300 gsm white card.
I chose the geo butterfly for my first card as it was straightforward to cut around and take away part of card front, coloured with polychromos for a sketchy look.
The floating half of the butterfly was backed with the same washi tape I used on the spine to make the inside neater before attaching the acetate panel behind.
Randomly stamped some smaller geo elements on the front with a few enamel dots, adding a piece of patterned paper inside with stamped sentiment.
For the second easel card I stamped the large funky floral design onto patterned paper embossed in white then over stamped in black to give a black shadow and greyish outline. Florals coloured with promarkers.
The floating part was backed with more of the patterned paper again to make the reverse neater before cutting out. Acetate panel was sandwiched between the patterned paper and card base. Added a few other elements onto the acetate.
Distress oxide inks through a fine floral stencil on the base of the easel with heart edges die for the stopper and die cut sentiment.

patterned papers: Shibori & Kaleidescope

Wow! These acetate cards sure do add some extra intra interest when your image floats off the base card. Super images, prettily coloured too! Thank you for playing along with our "Feminine" challenge at Stamping Sensations with this duo this month! Crafty Hugs, Lesley
