Hedgehog Best Wishes

Hello to you all hope you are staying safe & well at the moment.  My card share today is an array of cute Penny Black hedgehogs simply arranged on a four square, die cut panel backed with subtle butterfly patterned paper.  They are all out of hibernation and busy just enjoying Springtime in one way or another ...


The Margaret Sherry Collection hedgehogs are stamped and coloured with promarkers then fussy cut, there's a few die cut flowers from an inked scrap and a die cut sentiment below which has a darker drop shadow.  I've had these stamps since 2008 and still going strong!


I've used - 5x7" white card base
Penny Black stamps from three different sets
'hugs!' 'critter party' & 'bubbly'
Tonic sentiment die
Xcut flower die

    Aw such fun, love them. Love the little ladybird one. My first hedgehog had woken up before i left home so a neighbour is going to continue feeding him. Stay safe. Emmax

So lovely to be invited by Ellie from Simply Ellibelle's blog as guest designer for challenge 14 of " I spy with my little eye.... something with wings " selected by Pauline.  A fabulous theme with so many possibilities ... I chose to ink up this wonderful large scale owl with draft lines and geometric styling and created a spotlight die-cutting technique. Owl stamped and heat embossed with clear EP then die cut part of the image into a circle.  To make the background, two different distress inks (one green, one blue) were smooched onto the remaining panel.  I did some light stencilling in areas, blue ink for the hex matrix pattern, white ink for the circles with iridescent mica pigment powder so they catch the light.  Finally some over stamping in smoke blue ink (which looks more light grey) for the doodle patterns and additional words (spread your wings, soar, fly).  Die cut circle has another layer underneath so it's slightly raised and left uncoloured.  Die cut &a

Chatty Bar

The Chatty Bar stamp set designed by Zinski Art was perfect for a fun drink themed card I needed.  Look at their expressive faces!  Images combined with a geometric embossed background and witty sentiment. Background created by applying blue/green ink to a geometric stencil, spritzed with water, placed onto ochre coloured cardstock and embossed through my die-cutting machine to create the embossed pattern with ink transferred like a faux letterpress effect.  Added some pieces of black/gold geo-patterned papers for interest and to ground the images.  Stamped and clear heat embossed images coloured with a mix of watercolour paints, alcohol markers and coloured pencils before fussy cutting and adhering.  Sentiment stamped and white heat embossed on a scrap of patterned paper cut into strips. Let it Snow

Crafting has been a bit hit and miss for me of late as family life has just got in the way but at last a Christmas card made for two challenges, a late entry for  September's CAS Mix Up  and a new colour challenge that has caught my interest called  Color Hues . I masked off a panel on the front of my card base and blended a mix of blue inks to create an ombre effect from turquoise to navy with a few splatters of water to add interest and lift some of the ink.  I've not embossed with dies very much so had to hunt where I had written down the sandwich for my Big Shot!  I'd forgotten how little pressure was needed to get a lovely embossed impression.  I chose a few snowflake dies and positioned them partly on/off my inked panel to widen the overall design then stamped the gorgeous sentiment at the bottom (I do love this flowing font) and a few falling little snowflakes all in navy blue.
