Criss Cross Lattice Card

This was made for my Dad for Father's Day.  Recently I had come across a lot of trellis cards and decided to make a criss cross lattice style one inspired from a YouTube video by blondecards_n_crafts which also shows the assemblage process.

I used a Funky Fossil stamp set called Waters Edge by Claire Brooking which includes a lovely heron and elements for scene building.  I had seen a heron at our local nature reserve not that long ago stood totally still on a centre platform no doubt eyeing up the fish in the pond.  My heron was placed on the waters edge surrounded by dragonflies underneath a strawberry moon.

The top panel and lattice strips were brushed with distress oxide inks in warm colours.  Created more texture using multiple techniques: bokeh circles, water splattering, stenciling and stamping. The open areas of the full moon stencil were inked and embossed with white EP.   Waters edge and heron were coloured with pencils and fussy cut before mounting.  Finished card fitted in a 6x6" envelope.

I've used -
Craft UK 300gsm white cardstock
Funky Fossil stamps - Waters Edge, Woodgrain
Funky Fossil Stencils - Full Moon, Watercolour Lines
Wow! opaque bright white super fine EP
Distress Oxides - fired brick, abandoned coral, wild honey,
spiced marmalade, squeezed lemonade
Faber Castell Polychromo pencils
Chiltern Arts Metallic/Studio Pencils
