Julie Hickey Floral Buttons
Another floral make to share, this time I've used the Floral Buttons stamp set from Julie Hickey Designs. I've loved going back to a simple inked background with strong focal images.
Shaded Lilac distress oxide ink was brushed over a fine florals stencil by Funky Fossil to create the soft background which was matted onto purple and orange cardstock to match the colours of the flowers. The floral buttons were stamped onto watercolour card, coloured with distress inks and easily cut out by hand as the borders are naturally irregular. Colouring is a favourite technique of mine.
There are four different sentiments in the set to suit different occasions which all fit into the little blank frame, I chose Happy Birthday for this make. The main larger flower was raised up on foam pads whereas all the rest were glued down flat grouped together in an overlapping arrangement.
I've used - 6x6" white card base

Distress Inks - wilted violet, crushed olive, carved pumpkin
Funky Fossil fine florals stencil
Distress Oxide - wilted violet
