CAS Be Happy Butterfly

Sharing a card for two challenges.  February sees a stencil challenge at CAS Mix Up with heat embossing and the Butterfly Challenge has spun the wheel for H for herringbone card with colour choices.

I've stencilled a very 'loose' herringbone design to keep the card clean and simple by brushing distress oxides over part of a diagonal geometrics stencil and then heating with clear EP.  The colours were blended together from spiced marmalade (orange) and squeezed lemonade (yellow) for a graduated feel.

The geo butterfly was first stamped off the edge of the stencilled panel then again on card coloured with lemon brusho which was cut out and adhered over the top just leaving the wings free.

It's been a lovely sunny day today albeit with a bitter wind.  As I was putting this card together this afternoon I had a dancing rainbow 🌈 on my desk from Emma's beaded suncatcher in my window, that definitely put a smile on my face 😊

Showing the shine from the heat embossing and highlights on the butterfly.
Finished with an uplifting stamped sentiment.

I've used - A6 orange tent fold card base
Claritystamp stencil card
Funky Fossil Diagonal Geometrics stencil
Distress Oxides - spiced marmalade, squeezed lemonade
Funky Fossil Geo Bugs & Happy Words stamp sets
Lemon Brusho, silver gelly roll pen
