Dendritic Acrylic Paint Technique
When I saw March CAS Mix Up Challenge was to use acrylic paint I knew exactly that I wanted to revisit the dendritic acrylic paint technique. It's a fun technique to create branch like tendril patterns by squashing paint between either glass, acrylic blocks or something similar like thick plastic packaging. The pattern forms once you prise the pieces apart, you then lay card on top, smooth gently to transfer. Here's a link to a video so you can understand the technique more ... I only used a pea sized amount of acrylic paint (unlike in the video).
I used storm cloud paint for the two flower heads and buttercup yellow paint for the leaves/vase on black card all die cut from larger pieces with the flower stems and sentiment stamped. To cheer up the overall look I die cut flower centres and thin strips from bright yellow card with a few added dots to embellish.

DeleteWhat a cool technique Steph! I had not heard of this before. Your flowers and vase are so cool. I love the natural pattern that emerges from squishing together the two surfaces. Great addition of the yellow stips of paper that match the flower centers. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
