Festive Silhouette Deer Scene

Image
First Christmas make of the year an inky deer scene with stencilled full moon.  A tad difficult to photograph - the true colours are actually blue/grey and lilac.  A few mistakes along the way which I'll own up to below! All inked and stamped directly onto the white card base.  I started with the two part moon stencil inking through the circle first then through the detail moon part with a mix of blue and lilac inks.  Dusted over with some mica pigment powers for a bit of subtle shine.  The silhouette deer were stamped in black ink and the ground inked with lilac using torn paper masks.  Next time I create something similar I will leave the deer stamping to last as the black ink was not totally dry so they are no longer as sharp as I would like. Noel sentiment was die cut with alphas from patterned paper and adhered in a curve inside the moon.  For some reason I forgot that the ascender part of the 'l' should be higher up, there was no way back once stuck down!  With a torn

Funky Fossil Happiness Blooms

Combined a patterned stencilled background with a focal flower stamped on scraps of patterned paper with two positive sentiments - 'stand tall' and 'Happiness blooms'.  We lost several potted plants to the hard frosts we had over winter, the flowers always stood tall and were lovely to see from the kitchen window.  Two out of the five have survived so I'm looking forward to some happy blooms soon. The sunray stencil was inked using distress oxides then with a stamp in my hand I stamped randomly into the white areas with blue ink to create some sky texture.  The flower stem with leaf was stamped onto the background and next to it one of the sentiments 'stand tall'.  The flower and leaves were stamped onto scraps of patterned paper and fussy cut.  One leaf was paper pieced onto the stem.  The main flower head is raised up on foam pads. 'Happiness blooms' sentiment stamped and heat embossed with white EP onto vellum and attached over two of the sunrays.

Card-io Spring Raindrop

Visited a craft fair recently (first one in absolutely ages) and treated myself to some Cardi-io stamps sets, stencils/masks ideal for making nature scenes.  I made these two similar Easter/Spring cards. Through the raindrop stencil I brushed over distress oxides using green/yellow/orange inks but faded them out on the right hand side.  As the stencil was too thick I made a paper raindrop aperture so I could stamp the scene inside.  Fence and overhanging tree stamped in brown, foliage in various shades of green inks and the silhouette birds and rabbits with black ink.  Some of the lower foliage has white pen dots added for extra interest. Panels matted onto spring green cardstock.  One has two rounded corners, got some stray ink on one panel so had to die cut that away but I quite like the overall effect of seeing more of the green matt layer!  Sentiment stamped and added on a die cut oval.
