Ruby Sunflower

Image
I grew some ruby sunflowers in my garden a few years ago and looking back at the photos inspired me to make this card. A sunflower stencil was rotated several times to achieve more petals and colour hues as the inks overlapped each other when using blending brushes.  Centre inked with hickory smoke, petals with wild honey & fired brick DOs.  Centre seed pattern has been heat embossed for texture & shine with lots of added black dots.  Colour pencil shading on top of the ink gave even more depth and shade whilst black fine-liner pen defined the petals. Sentiment stamped on a strip of vellum with a few gold die cut dots to embellish.  Panel layered onto red cardstock. One of the ruby sunflowers I grew I've used - 6" sq white card base Funky Fossil sunflower stencil sentiment from Uniko Paradise stamp set Distress Oxide inks: wild honey, fired brick & hickory smoke Sanntangle coloured pencils;  Blackberry WOW! The sentiment is made up from word stamps from Uniko's Bee Happy stamp set leaving only 'ther' for me to write in with a black fine liner pen. I...
