Have an unfrogrettable day!

Another fun make with Funky Fossil's Rainy Day bundle, this time Mr Frog has come out to splash in the puddles, he's left his wellies behind but really doesn't mind getting his feet wet! This is an interactive swing reveal card, the tag swings from side to side to reveal the sentiments and more of the background.  I followed Jennifer McGuire's video  for it's construction as the magazine article I first saw this in I just couldn't get my head around the instructions! Had a play with lots of techniques - stencilling and monoprinting with distress inks, outlining and tangling designs onto some of the wellies, stamping onto patterned paper then paper piecing, die cutting, colouring with promarkers. The tag doesn't swing as freely as I would have liked, think I need another layer behind the background panel.  Now see if you can spot where I stamped some rain drops on upside down ... ooops!  I also would have added googly eyes on Mr Frog but I could only find lar...

Marine Life

Image
A lovely crafty friend gifted me some marine life images last year and I've spent a few hours happily colouring this large whale with kelp fronds in its underwater setting using basic colouring pencils then water coloured the hexagon shapes with brushos.  Added some extra bubbles here and there with black & white fine liner pens. Gave the whale a little turtle swimming companion, coloured, cut out and shaped to give its shell a more natural rounded look. The background was simply stamped with a distress elements stamp in grey and I added a little coloured and cut out starfish at the bottom.  Decided not to add a sentiment on the front just to ring the changes.  I don't normally craft with such a large all-in-one image so this made a lovely change for me. I've used - 6x6" white card base Gifted images;  Colouring pencils;  Brushos - leaf green & yellow Funky Fossil distress elements stamp Linking up with - Colour Crazy ATG colouring Allsorts Challenge ...

Rainy Day Birthday

Image
Happy New Year everyone! I'm starting off 2022 by sharing my first birthday card make using Funky Fossil's Rainy Day Critters stamp set ... I treated myself to the 'Rainy Day' bundle of stamps, stencils & dies at the end of last year. Some colourful distress inks were sponged over the puddle stencil and heat embossed with white & silver super sparkle EP which happened to be on my desk from Christmas makes so I thought why not!  The inside/outside rings of the puddle were coloured with a tea green promarker.  Then distress inks in scattered straw and tumbled glass were brushed over the rest of the panel to knock back the whiteness.  Next I reached for a scenic border stencil and sponged more tumbled glass DI to create clouds. This cute feline sheltering under his colourful brolly has been stamped & fussy cut, customised with added pen marks to give him more character, coloured with promarkers, shaped and adhered with silicone glue.  The whiter clouds and r...
