Rainbow Festive Wishes

Image
Who'd of thought I'd be making a Christmas card in April with woolly hats in rainbow colours whilst we have lovely warm sunshine outside!  Well thanks to the  CAS Christmas  card challenge and their "rainbow" prompt here is my cosy & warm card. Using my wreath builder template and stamping platform makes the job so much easier to position the single woolly hat, turning the panel and stamping each time in a different distress oxide colour.  I love that the stamping reveals a star/poinsettia shape pattern in the middle.  My rainbow colours go anticlockwise and there are eight instead of the usual seven.  Now I've taken photos I see there are some pencil lines still to rub out! I embossed a couple of square dies onto the stamped panel as a frame.  Sentiments and snowflakes embossed with detail gold EP.  Yes a non-traditional festive card but I like the happy colours and another one completed ahead of time. I've used - 5x5" white card base Hunkydo...

Happy Bee-day

Buzzing in with a card for two challenges ...  CAS Mix Up  and  Freshly Made Sketches . The cute bee is wishing the recipient a Happy Bee-day.       It's always lovely to revisit paper piecing.  I've made a fun mushroom high-rise bee home using the colourful inside of an envelope from a supermarket for the paper piecing element.  To create the high-rise I stamped and masked the individual stamps as I went along die-cutting the finished panel with a wavy edge and thin colour border to loosely fit in with the sketch (a wider border didn't look right so had to run with a thin one).  Bee and sentiment stamped on the card base with some ink splattering and die cut coloured dots as finishing touches. I've used - 6x6" white card base Funky Fossil Bees Knees stamp set Unbranded stitched border die Distress Inks for splattering Linking up with - CAS Mix Up  (stamping, paper piecing, die-cutting, ink splattering) Freshly Made Sketches  #480 -...

Happy Easter

Image
Sharing a set of Easter cards using some pre-printed Easter die-cut decoupage images that I won as a challenge prize and patterned papers from my stash.  Not my usual style of crafting but I did like how they turned out. The background pattern paper strips were arranged in a herringbone pattern.  Here's a link to a good tutorial which shows how to do five different versions.  Would like to try some of the other versions in the future though I did use up a lot of double sided tape in the process! The decoupage bunny images were mounted on vellum mats so the pretty background could still be seen with a stamped and gold embossed sentiment.  Only two decoupage layers per card so they were flat for posting. For these next two cards I covered a card base with patterned paper and hand cut into shape.  Added die cut shapes on the head for the hen's comb, beak & wattles, a sequin eye, die cut wing & some flowers with the decoupage chick/eggs image.  Stamped...
