Julie Hickey Friendship Flower Birthday

This card and design was inspired by watching Julie Hickey's technique video where she watercoloured three stripes using distress oxides from same colour tones to create a background. I used picked raspberry, abandoned coral and fired brick in pink/red. On a panel of watercolour card each individual colour was painted in a long strip, dried with a heat tool then splattered with the same colour which created a mottled effect. Once dry I used stamps from the Friendship Flower set using black ink then decided touches of gold would be a good idea to lift the design. The middle of each flower was stamped and embossed in gold onto vellum, die cut and adhered on top. Added a line of stamped hearts too. A little three dot stamp from another JHD set was randomly stamped and embossed in gold.
