Octopus Birthday

Image
A relatively straightforward make today using a gifted octopus all-in-one image that I've simply water coloured in orange, green and blue.  His background has been randomly stamped with a circle in bundled sage DI to soften the white areas and cut with a postage frame die. Topper mounted on some patterned paper that has a small compass design with a blue matt, die cut sentiment in gold with a white shadow matt and a swallow tail bunting die with three tiny gold fishes.  Made this for my brother-in-law who has a huge koi fish pond in his back garden but no octopus! I've used - 5x7" white card base Gifted image; Watercolour pens Unbranded postage frame, sentiment & fish dies Xcut swallow tail bunting die;  Mag freebie patterned paper Linking up with - Male Room Challenge 160 - Animals Seize the Birthday #234 ATG Thank you for visiting - I'd love you to leave a comment if you have time -  Steph x

Funky Fossil Duck cards

Image
I challenged myself to make different three cards featuring a lovely duck in an umbrella stamp from Funky Fossil's Rainy Day Critters set.  Three different colour schemes, all pretty and Spring like just like the weather here today. With Love Special Birthday Wishes Hello Spring With Love uses an inky stencilled monoprint background with a fireworks stencil and shaded lilac and fired brick DOs with lots of water spritzing to tone down the colours.  Added a die cut doodle frame, paper pieced with some of the half circles coloured with alcohol markers as is the main image which has been fussy cut.  A little snail companion has made an appearance too.  Sentiment heat embossed on vellum. Special Birthday Wishes has patterned paper embossed with white and silver super sparkle EP using one element from a scenic borders stencil.  Stamped focal image coloured with alcohol markers and die cut with a stitched circle.  I stamped the little cute companion snail onto the largest die cut cloud a

Wordle Birthday Card

Image
As my son introduced me to the daily online Wordle game I just had to make a birthday card for him this year using that theme.  I was firstly inspired by a card I saw on the CraftWorld site by a fellow crafter and then those on Pinterest. I die cut 30 little squares and enough white letters to spell out the four words from scraps of saved card mounted on a white panel with a matt layer in gold. The colour of the letter tiles indicate - a wrong letter (dark grey), a right letter in the right place (green), a right letter in the wrong place (gold) and white for the unused lines in the grid.  I printed off the six congratulation words and added 'splendid' on top of the white squares as that's the word that pops up when you solve the game in four tries.  My son has solved one of the games in a really lucky first word guess so he saw 'genius' pop up ... that has eluded me so far! Right at the top of my main panel is a tab with my Wordle result for my game 263 solved in 4
