Sunflower Happy Bee-day
Had a play with my Funky Fossil stamps and stencil to create this sunflower bee card. Last year my Dad gave me some sunflower seedlings that he had grown which I potted on and had a really lovely display of traditional yellow and ruby sunflowers in our back garden which the bees loved to visit. Started by running the sunflower stencil through my Big Shot to dry emboss the design straight onto my card blank. Keeping the stencil in place I used three yellow/orange colours of distress oxide inks to brush over the petals for an ombré look with hickory smoke for the centre. The bees, honeycomb and sentiment were stamped and heat embossed on vellum before cutting cut and adhering with tiny dots of glue. Coloured with my very old parchment Perga Color pens which amazingly still work. Each bee has a stamped hexagon and bee trails doodled behind for movement.
