Racing Car Birthday

Image
Today's card was firstly inspired by a sketch posted on the CraftWorld site and secondly by the  Male Room Challenge  which is to use some embossing.  I started by stamping & embossing with clear EP the racing car so I would have raised lines to help control where the promarker colouring went. Used a textured EF on white card with two different-coloured ink pads dragged across to highlight the raised design and a cogs EF on grey core’dinations card sanded back to highlight some parts.  These panels/elements were mounted on card edged in the same colour as the car.  Racing car has been fussy cut, shaped and adhered with silicone glue.  Finishing touches are a pre-printed sentiment from my stash and two die cut cogs with a black shadow. Rainbow Hedgehogs

Image
I saw a lovely rainbow in the sky earlier this week whilst out dog walking so I decided to use that as my inspiration for this card.  I cut six rings from my nesting circle dies, water coloured them with brushos in typical rainbow sequence then for some extra sparkle I heat embossed with stardust EP.  Sliced in half so I've got a double rainbow for extra good fortune. Used promarkers to colour the cute hedgehogs, fussy cut and shaped slightly before adhering with silicone glue.  Sentiment from the same stamp set is on a die cut cloud shape which has been cut with the larger circle die so it fits perfectly above the top rainbow.  Finishing touches are die cut hearts along the bottom.  This is hubby's Valentine Card ... x I've used - 13.5 cm sq white card base Unbranded stitched nesting circle dies Stamps from issue 22 Make Special Cards mag Promarkers & Brushos Stardust EP Linking up with - Crafty Cardmakers  #250 Love Is All You Need ...

CAS Stencil February Challenge – Guest Designer

Image
Excited to be sharing today my guest designer card for February’s CAS Stencil Challenge .  I was their top pick back in November with this card … thank you Loll for the invitation! To be a guest designer is another new venture for me and I have to say since discovering this new challenge a year ago I’ve learnt many new stencil techniques along the way thanks to all the lovely designers, their cards and the inspirational theme/video links each month.  Please do check the CAS Stencil Challenge out, stencils are so versatile. February's challenge is to use ‘foil’ … hmm again one of those purchases that seemed like a good idea at the time and not used much or successfully. I created my own stencil from a die, applied VersaMark ink through then heat embossed with sticky stuff EP.  Next step was to place a foil sheet on top and pass through my laminator inside a folded sheet of copy paper.  (I did try rubbing on top of the foil with my fingers first but the f...
