Have a Beautiful Day

Image
Here is my card for this month's  CAS Stencil Challenge  where the technique is stencilling over a coloured background.  My inky background was made by blending Distress Oxides in picked raspberry & shaded lilac then inking through a mini crazy patterned stencil with more shaded lilac. After cutting with a stitched circle die I added a stamped dandelion head with white highlights and a few flicks of water to add more interest.  It's created quite a dreamy effect which reminds me of a summer day so I tucked a little yellow die cut shape underneath for a glimpse of the sun. The two sentiment strips were cut from the same background.  To break up the white slightly I dry embossed the front of my card blank with the same crazy stencil. I've used - A6 white card base Clarity Stencil Card DO's picked raspberry & shaded lilac Creative Expressions Crazy mini stencil Unbranded stitched circle die Mag freebie dandelion & sentiment stamps White

With Love in Peach & White

Today I'm sharing this card I made for a sketch challenge with friends/members over on docrafts  where the brief was to have flowers in the background squares and a sentiment in the centre one.  I mounted some white die cut flowers on squares of peach coloured mulberry paper, if you look closely you can see the random fibres embedded within the paper.  I'd forgotten how delicate these papers are, still have lots to use up though, and of course any adhesive will show through so dots of glue were placed behind the die cuts. This is the sketch we were following - a free one found online. I've used some subtle floral patterned paper with more peach mulberry paper behind on the card base and was able to find a colour ink pad that coordinated well for the sentiment & bow stamping. I had a whole lot of trouble photographing this card as the light outside seemed to bleach the peach colour too much so I resorted to taking these indoors, the colours are prettier in real

Embossed Birthday Wishes

A little card featuring a textured embossing folder I was given recently.  The main embossed panel has an aperture cut into it so I could display the pretty die cut sentiment on lovely bright Fushia coloured cardstock. Sentiment was left over from a card I made last year, you can it see  here , which will show why it's randomly coloured the way it is. I've added pairs of die cut leaves in Fushia, topped with little blue butterflies die cut from a scrap of inked card and a couple of white adhesive pearls for the "dots" on the letters "i".  A fairly straightforward feminine card this time made for a challenge over on docrafts with friends/members. I've used - A6 white card blank Papermania white Capsule textured cardstock Fushia metallic linen cardstock Sue Wilson sentiment & butterflies dies Papermania white adhesive pearls Unbranded EF & other dies Also playing along with -  Watercooler Wednesday - Feminine "Anythin
